The focus of this article is to accomplish the structural analysis of a 25 levels reinforced concrete tall building which will be built in a sport complex situated in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The building’s structure consists of two central cores are designed to resist lateral loads. The structural analysis will be done using two methods: an approximate global analysis based on the equivalent column‘s theory and a second analysis using the finite element method (FEM). The bracing system will be replaced by an equivalent column, considered to be a vertical cantilever fixed at the base. Using mathematical and physical relations will determine: the structural stability, frequency, maximum stresses and deformations. The results will be compare and will observe how much the values obtained using the equivalent column theory, tend to get similar to the accurate calculation, using the FEM. |
