Abstrakt:

The maintenance, repair, and replacement of aging bridges is a costly endeavour for highway agencies, yet it is essential for ensuring their serviceability and reliability throughout their lifespan. The increasing instances of structural degradation and bridge failures in recent times, often attributed to inadequate maintenance, highlight the need for a proactive approach. In response to this challenge, A software for effective Bridge Inspection and Maintenance Management System (BrIMMS) has been developed. This software is designed to streamline various activities such as inspection, assessment of bridge conditions, forecasting of bridge maintenance needs, allocation of repair and rehabilitation tasks, strengthening, replacement, reconstruction, prioritization of bridges for various maintenance actions, and identifying cost-effective solutions for each bridge, including maintenance scheduling. The BrIMMS equips engineers and administrators at all levels with the tools to select optimal solutions, ensuring that bridges meet the desired level of service within the available budget. This paper presents the principal characteristics and components of the software created for BrIMMS. It illustrates the ways in which this software can significantly improve the management of bridge infrastructure.
