Abstrakt:

The inelastic buckling resistances of steel beams are complicated and heavily influenced by residual stresses and initial imperfections. However, in the majority of studies and current steel structure design standards, residual stress and initial imperfections are not typically considered for. Typically, research focuses solely on residual stress, ignoring the fact that initial imperfections have a significant impact on inelastic buckling resistances. Thus, the present study developed a numerical solution in the ABAQUS software to investigate the inelastic buckling moment resistances of rolled steel beams with compact sections that are subjected to the effects of residual stresses considering initial imperfections. Through comparisons between the specifications (EC3; AISC; JSCE; GB2003; TCVN) and numerical solutions, the study demonstrated the disparity in the results of calculating the inelastic resistance be‐tween the standards. The results indicate that in the inelastic region, the resistance values calculated from the numerical solution are quite near to the EC3 results. When initial imperfections and residual stress are disregarded in the numerical model, the resistances are near to the value of the total yielding moment.
