Abstrakt:

The Sydney International Aquatic Centre was constructed at Homebush Bay, Sydney, as part of Sydney's successful bid for the Olympic Games in the year 2000. The facility functions as an international-standard venue for training and competition in the sports of swimming, diving, water polo and synchronised swimming. As the centre has been built to host the Olympic Games, it must be capable of expansion to provide for the additional spectator accommodation necessary for this event. The facility has been designed for 4,400 permanent seats, with ability to expand to 12,500 seats with uninterrupted views of the pools and scoreboards during the Olympic Games.
