The Schubert Club Band Shell was completed September 2002, in Saint Paul, Minnesota (USA). The structure hosts performing arts and an annual concert series of internationally renowned musicians. The structure focuses on a glass-covered lattice. The geometry of the lattice is formed by rotating an upward curving arc through a downward curving arc, resulting in a symmetric saddle shape. The lattice utilizes an innovative system of offset pipes and single rod diagonals that proved significantly more economical than the more common welded grid. All lattice components are high quality stainless steel, enhancing the appearance of the structure and reducing the long-term maintenance costs. |
