Fatigue Strength of Glass Panels under Cyclic Loading

The fatigue behaviour of toughened glass under cyclic loading is investigated. The first results are presented. While relevant fatigue data exists for numerous metallic materials, the fatigue behaviour of brittle materials is still almost unknown. The initial investigations of fatigue properties of brittle materials began with ceramics. With the increase in usage of glass as a structural material the fatigue strength of this material is also required.
