Fatigue Design of Tack-Welded Mesh Reinforcing Bars

A fatigue limit state verification according to Palgrem-Miner's rule for tack-welded mesh reinforcing steel bars is presented. The check is based on extensive fatigue testing and on the resulting fatigue strength curve for fatigue limit state dimensioning. The paper describes the main results of fatigue tests performed on gas metal arc welded cross joints of reinforcing steel bars. The objective and purpose of the test series was to establish a method for the fatigue limit state verification.
