The impact of carbonation technique on the performance properties of carbonated Recycled Concrete Paste (cRCP) in composite cements was investigated. The results show that despite differences in characteristics of carbonated material both techniques, wet and semi‐dry carbonation, lead to a carbonated material with valuable pozzolanic properties. The cement performance was further tested with different types of recycling material. Lab‐produced and industrially separated RCP were treated by means of enforced carbonation. All RCP materials were suitable for using concrete as a CO2 sink to sequester emissions from clinker production. The performance of the tested materials was similar regardless of the carbonation technique. Finally, it could be shown that industrial RCP material enables the production of ecofriendly composite cements for future applications. |
