Abstrakt:

High‐quality glass is facing a significantly growing demand. Especially display glass and automotive applications are boosting the market and the industrial pursuit for highest quality, requiring not only defect free sheets but also flawless optical properties. The technology to be introduced in this paper concerns the measurement of optical power inhomogeneities of glass, additional to reliably detecting cords, reams, zip lines and other common optical glass defects. Quality monitoring also comprehensively gives hints for the optimization of the entire float glass process via product and quality data. By relying on the ISRA technology, manufacturers can ensure the delivery of defect‐free float glass with certified optical quality regarding Diopter or Zebra values. The paper provides a closer look at ISRA's patented innovative optical distortion measurement, giving an overview about how users can benefit from the in‐line Moiré technology, which ensures highest product quality and enhances global competitiveness.
