Abstract:

Compact reinforced UHPC columns with circular hollow cross-section

Within the third funding period of the Priority Program "Sustainable Building with ultra high performance concrete (UHPC)" (SPP 1182) of the German Research Foundation (DFG), the load-deformation behavior of compact thin-walled reinforced UHPC columns with circular hollow cross-section was investigated under centric and eccentric normal force at the Institute for Building Materials, Concrete Construction and Fire Protection (iBMB) of the Technische Universität Braunschweig. On the basis of experimental investigations, it was examined whether the small wall-thickness of the circular hollow cross-section has an impact on the load bearing capacity of the reinforced concrete columns. Furthermore, the influence of the structural design on the load-deformation behavior of the reinforced UHPC columns with circular hollow cross-section was investigated.
