Abstract:

Two innovative and very cost-effective concepts for traffic tunnels using the TBM (“Tunnel Boring Machine”) technique are presented, the TMG concept for rail tunnels and the TMF concept for road tunnels. The reduction of the construction cost and the improvement of safety during operation with the application of these concepts in the construction of long tunnels are shown.
