Chronology

1998

Bridge is taken into a laboratory for testing of the bolted and glued joints.

Notes

The bridge consist of a glued and a bolted span in order to test the difference between the two types of construction. The spans are removed every spring and put back in place by helicopter in the fall. This is to avoid them being swept away by flooding in the months where the Flaz carries more water. The effects of the harsh environment are tested regularly both in terms of overall structural stiffness as well as masterial strength.
