| 1 April 1933 — 1939 | The bridge is called Adolf-Hitler-Brücke. |
| 1939 — 1947 | The bridge is called "Lüderitzbrücke". |
| 25 April 1945 | Dynamited by German troops. |
| August 1945 | Reconstruction begins. |
| 18 March 1947 | The unfinished reconstruction is destroyed by heavy ice floating on the Weser. |
| 29 November 1947 | Reconstruction is completed and the bridge opened to traffic. |
| 1957 | Decision is made to build a replacement bridge. |
| 1958 | Construction on a parallel new bridge begins. |
| 22 December 1960 | The new bridge (refer to Wilhelm-Kaisen-Brücke) is opened to traffic. |
| 1961 | The "Grosse Weserbrücke" is demolished. |
