Notes

The bridge is suspended above the water paralleling the Arkansas River through an area where both the canyon and the river are only 30 feet wide. Sheer cliffs rise 1050 feet straight up above the water on either side of the river. The bridge is anchored to the north rock wall of the gorge. The A-Frame girders are anchored to both cliff walls with the steel railroad bridge suspended from these girders along the river.
