Notes

The Brenna-Alzate Station still preserves many elements typical of the early twentieth century. Which is why american director Marleen Gorris thought it was the ideal location to shoot several scenes in the film "The Luzhin Defense" (2000, based on Vladimir Nabokov novel), set in 1926. Here in the initial sequence chess champion Luzhin (John Turturro) arrives on a steam train and is welcomed by a local orchestra.
