Studies are undertaken for the construction of a new bridge.

1909

The transporter bridge type is chosen.

19 September 1910

First stone is laid by President Armand Fallières.

1914

Construction is interrupted by the war as the pylons are completed. The works are never finished.

18 August 1942

The pylons are dynamited.
