RESTON®SPHERICAL – Spherical bearings

mageba spherical Bearings are especially suited for bridges with big torsions and bridges located in very cold areas (temperatures lower than -30°C).

Principle

mageba RESTON®SPHERICAL bearings are designed to transmit vertical forces while permitting large rotations by means of matching rounded upper and lower parts. Longitudinal and transverse movements of the superstructure can be facilitated as appropriate by a flat sliding interface between the top of the rounded element and a sliding plate, or alternatively, side-mounted guide bars can be provided to transmit horizontal forces.
