Name: Walter Taylor

Moves to Brisbane.

Worked with his father on building construction. His father fell and was killed while building a new engine shed at Roma Street, Brisbane. Walter completed the job and carried on with other work.

Construction work in England. Takes a special interest in reinforced concrete.

1912 - 1952

Construction work in Brisbane.

Notes & Comments

Buildings include old Gordon and Gotch building in Adelaide Street, Tritton's warehouse at North Quay, Craigston Flats in Wickham Terrace, Tristram's cordial factory in South Brisbane, newspaper build store in William Street, the Hooper and Harrison and Hoey Fry buildings, Somerville House, Number 2 block at the General Hospital, the G. Smith building in Elizabeth Street, the Anzac Club. Built both the Methodist church at Sherwood (1917), and that at Graceville (1930), as well as the Graceville church hall (1951).

Bridges include the Boyne River bridge at Mundubbera, the Abbotsford Road bridge across Breakfast Creek and another across Downfall Creek.
