Abstract:

Shear resistance of prestressed hollow core slabs on flexible supports - Part 1: Model derivation

The shear resistance of hollow core slabs is considerably reduced when the slabs are bedded on flexible supports like slender beams or girders instead of rigid walls. So far, there is no standardised design concept to determine the residual bearing capacity appropriately. This paper describes the derivation of a design model to determine the shear resistance of precast prestressed hollow core slabs on flexible supports.
