Abstract:

Anchorage zones in post-tensioned concrete structures offered by the construction industry are subject to a certification process, which checks compliance with codes of practice and safety requirements. This certification is based on load transfer tests on specimens, which represent the real structural solutions. Such tests can be supplemented by numerical simulations based on computational mechanics. Those simulations represent a powerful tool for interpreting test results and contribute to a better understanding of the structural behaviour of anchorage zones.
