Abstract:

A cable stayed bridge with parallel strand cables: Elbe Bridge Schönebeck (Germany) - Detailed Design (part 2).

The cable stayed bridge crosses the River Elbe with a main span of 185 m. The main feature of this bridge is the A-shaped, about 73 m high pylon. The foreshore areas are crossed by 16 additional spans on the left side and 8 additional spans on the right side of the river. For the bridge with its total length of 1128 m different methods of construction were used.
The publication part 1 "Stahlbau Heft 3/2013" contains the construction of the bridge and the stay cables. This part 2 contains the detail design and static aspects in respect of construction.
