Abstract:

Cable stayed pedestrian bridge across the Bernesga rive (León)

The footbridge consists of one reinforced concrete single span 79.5 m long, 0.9 m deep and 4.0 m wide, with two planes of 4 stays each, 18 m apart, along the footbridge. The stays begin at the upper part of a single and asymmetric pier, located on the river side, in a half-harp shape. The horizontal components are balanced by means of another dorsal system, in harp shape. The footbridge has been built "in situ" on falsework and later, the loads were transferred to the staying system.
