In December 2012, the decision of the public tender for the planning of the Olympic Games venues of tennis and aquatic facilities (figure 1) was announced. The consortium, consisting of schlaich bergermann und partner sbp do brasil and Gerkan, Marg und Partner gmp do brasil, together with the Brazilian mechanical engineering and sustainability partners Lumens and Sustentech, was successful in both projects. This high-lighted the admission to the exclusive club of planners for the Olympic Games and the final confirmation of the recognition as a fully registered Brazilian office, accredited for public bids.
