Abstract:

Structural and fire-technical investigation of the use of rib-floor elements in wood-concrete-composite

The paper describes the structural and fire-technical investigation of the use of rib-floor elements in wood-concrete-composite (WCC). At first, the problem of distortion in the first stage of the manufacturing process is discussed and a numerical design model for calculating the level of distortion is presented. Further a new manufacturing-process and a new bearing-design for uniaxial WCC rib-floor-elements is described. In this context fire-technical investigations and tests were conducted. The reason for these investigations was the use of WCC rib-floor-elements for the extension of a school building in Linz/A, where the fire-safety of the new bearing construction had to be certified. The fire-safety tests were carried out at the Institute of Building construction and Technology at the Technical University of Vienna.
