Abstract:

The Jinnah Bridge in Karachi, Phase II

The bridge connects the port of Karachi with the downtown and the national highway system free of crossings. It consists of cast-in-place concrete as well as of precast griders with cast-in-place slabs. To maintain traffic during all construction phases, the political situation in Pakistan and the necessary international collaboration requested unusual efforts by all parties involved.
