Abstract:

A Design Concept for Plain and Fibre-Reinforced Final Linings of Tunnels

A concept for the design of final tunnel linings on the basis of current standards and guidelines is presented. The proposed method requires an iterative approach towards the equilibrium of the static system considering nonlinear material behaviour in compression and tension. As a result this method returns a design proof either for the unreinforced lining or the fibre-reinforced lining including the required post crack tensile strength of fibre-reinforced concrete.
