Abstract:

Glued glass frame corners have been identified as one particularly promising application for transparent adhesives. A high degree of transparency for the whole construction can be achieved using such bonded elements. Research aims to the optimization of the adhesive joint, its structural behaviour and the bonding technology. The paper presents results of a pre-evaluation on several adhesives and of loadbearing tests on sample components as well as some built examples.
