Abstract: In this study, the vibration serviceability is clarified for the footbridge dominated by uncomfortable vibration due to pedestrian load through field experiment. And also, assessment of human walking force model that express the resonance vibration is carried out based on the results of the field experiment. Another attempt is made to reduce the vibration by applying the tuned mass damper (TMD) and several active control by means of dynamic response anaysis. Finnally, the applicability and efficiency of control method is discussed in comparison with no control.
