Abstract:

A new Levy cable dome structure with double-hoop in each layer for easier construction is proposed. The comparison and analysis of the static properties of this new structure under different angle ratios and different load conditions have shown that the simplest method of introducing the pre-stress by pulling the lower hoop cable of the first layer is feasible and the angle ratio of acclivitous cable influences obviously the static properties of the structure. The analysis of the example of computation has shown that under the precondition without increase of the structure and the construction cost, the optimization of the angle ratio of acclivitous cable can improve the mechanical properties of the structure. The existence of the critical point of the angle ratio of acclivitous cable is discovered. A design method to optimize the angle ratio of acclivitous cables by searching the stress intensity of the upper acclivitous cables and upper hoop cables is proposed.
