Abstract: One of the purposes of the European legislation is to receive the national codes of the UE state members and to guarantee a constant updating and close examination of the safety standards and inexpensiveness of the constructive techniques. In such sense it is recent the revision and diffusion of the final draft of the European standards for the welded and bolted connections. The memory focuses the aspects and the procedures of design and verification of a typical bolted joint in a steel beam. The safety coefficients and the most relevant points for the updating of the Eurocode 3 are discussed.
