Abstract:

The requirements, made to safety of structures, have a purpose of prevention of the accidental failure and collapse of buildings and constructions as a whole or its separate parts that can lead to hazards for health and life of people, to cause damage for environment or to serve as the reason of other failure situations. The problem of ensuring reliable and safe operation of various newly erected, operated and rehabilitated projects is of increasing importance under growing natural and technogenic effects.

During consideration of the possible reasons of occurrence of failures it is necessary to pay attention to blunders which can be made by specialists on designing, construction and exploitation of structures.
