Abstrait:

The increasing age of bridges and the growing demand for inspection and maintenance underscore the need for standardized procedures for the digital management of critical structural information. To ensure accurate decision-making for targeted maintenance interventions, it is especially necessary for existing bridges to gather and share critical data during the condition assessment phase. This study proposes a method based on open BIM standards to maximize operational data management related to existing bridges to meet these needs. The main objective was to create a data structure, using the standard IFC format, to identify each infrastructure component and arrange inspection and damage data. The suggested method is employed in a case study about an Italian viaduct. The findings show that using frameworks built on open standard formats makes it easier to gather data and gives decision-makers a solid foundation.
