Hanshin expressway has played an important role of transportation infrastructure supporting the everyday life and economy of the Hanshin Metropolitan Area. The Hanshin Expressway celebrated its 50th anniversary in June 2014, and has faced to so-called "aging of structure" resulted in serious damage which can't be avoided. Sometimes, such aging structures should be better to replace rather than repeatedly implementing repair activities. This paper summarizes the details of the Hanshin Expressway replacement projects. |
